Forecast Consoles and the Broadcast Industry

For decades, Forecast Consoles has specialized in providing technical and console furniture for the broadcast market, our first primary industry.

When we first started out in the 1980s, our team was mainly outfitting small A/V related projects, in addition to boutique recording studios and specialty projects for independent production houses. Eventually, the industry matured, and broadcast networks started doing larger projects.

However, while many set designers built control rooms, specialty equipment and monitors required more technical expertise than was available at the time. This meant that networks needed a company that specifically knew how to build complete, custom control rooms. It was at this point that Forecast Consoles as we know it was born.

What Sets us Apart

One of our greatest strengths lies in our ability to adapt to rapid industry changes with ease. Initially, all our custom-built designs were hand-sketched by our founder, Bill Haberman. However, as the industry grew, the size and scale of projects increased, which required us to standardize products to ensure their use without sacrificing our signature quality.

It was also at this time when the industry started to become less about design and more about customizing furniture and consoles to fit a space. Then, fast-forward to the early 2000s with MASTERail, it became more about creating components that can be reused and reconfigured to acclimate to the number of operators, the size of rooms and even equipment.

A Design Build Firm

Although we still do custom work, most of our projects are based on product lines. But at our core, we’re more than just manufacturers—we’re a “Design Build Firm” that formulates furniture and consoles around the specific needs of our clients and their spaces.

We have taken decades of experience and utilized our knowledge to ensure products are properly optimized for best use. In the end, our goal is to ensure what is installed is exactly what our customer envisioned for their space.
